Most of Sappi’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) is allocated to South Africa because of the socio-economic circumstances in the country. The aim of each of our CSI projects is to work in partnership with worthy causes to create meaningful change. The priorities in the group’s social investment portfolio are:
At Sappi, we focus on education in order to grow both human capital and our own markets. As a paper company, the group’s future depends on developed markets which utilise paper in a variety of different ways. In southern Africa, in addition to bursaries, lectureships, community libraries and adult literacy programmes, Sappi sponsors several innovative projects.
